Mishi Methven and her partner Aimee have lived through the devastating experience of the death of their young daughter Stella. Soon after Stella turned two, she was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma - a fatal brain tumour - and was given a prognosis of months to live. The decisions that followed may seem both conventionally radical - such as forgoing the physician recommended radiation treatments and radically joyful - like giving Stella ice cream for breakfast every morning. Stella’s middle name was “Joy” and she fully embodied her name.
